Atlantic Yards Aerial Photographs

The extremely controversial Atlantic Yards project for Downtown Brooklyn moves along at a glacial pace (but just fast enough to allow the developer to tear down landmark buildings, despite questions surrounding the entire project). I recently saw this blog post at Brit In Brooklyn about aerial photographs taken of the Atlantic Yards footprint by photographer and editor of Photo Magazine, Jonathan Barkey.

Below is the coolest (/saddest) of his shots (click to enlarge). But I encourage you to go to the original blog post. There are more photos and an interesting interview.

In the distance is New York Harbor, then New Jersey, in the back right corner of the photo are the big buildings of lower Manhattan, on the right near side of the photo are the buildings that currently make up the Brooklyn skyline.
